ShengXing Chi,
line by line

Nineteen years of software, told as one line. Scroll to walk it, from a dawn meadow to an Irish morning. The goose comes along, whether you like it or not. Press the space bar and it kicks. Press Enter to stack the logos and climb them.

Learning the basics

B.Sc. Computer Science and Technology

Four years of algorithms, databases and networks. The groundwork for everything that follows.

First job, whole stack

The province's tourism websites were mine to build and keep alive. I wrote the pages, the C# behind them and the database under them, then trained the staff who ran them.

  • wzta.gov.cnA city tourism site on the same platform

One system, end to end

Frontend Developer · Fujian Helios Technologies

Helios NetView NMS let operators check and configure mobile-signal repeaters from far away, over GPRS or SMS. I built all of it: the interface, the backend, the schema and the statistics. Then I taught customers to use it and kept it running.

The front end becomes the craft

Senior Frontend Developer · WioWise

From Sanming I moved fully to the front end. WioWise was a blogging and social publishing platform. I built its dashboard, cart and orders, and two tools that let people with no coding background make their own pages.

  • WiseBuilderA page and site builder that needs no code

Reading the signals

Senior Frontend Engineer · Trendalytics

Trendalytics reads billions of online signals (searches, social posts, shared images) to tell fashion retailers which trends will sell before they produce anything. I built the dashboards that turn that data into answers for merchandisers.

A thread that stays

Senior Frontend Engineer (contract) · Colleague AI

Alongside everything else, one client has stayed with me: an AI platform for K-12 classroom teachers. Over the years I redesigned its classroom, moved its UI to Tailwind, rebuilt AI streaming on SSE, and designed the memory architecture for its core AI agents.

Data for cities

Senior Frontend Engineer · Quanturban 量城科技

Quanturban builds data tools that help property developers and city governments plan and run cities in finer detail. In the same year I started freelancing on Upwork, which is where the next chapter came from.

Leading the front end

Head of Frontend · Know Your Customer

Know Your Customer runs identity and anti-money-laundering checks for financial institutions around the world. I joined as a senior frontend developer in February 2022 and was leading the front end by July. I also moved to Ireland. Today the work is a React and TypeScript codebase of 113,000 lines in 930 files, a distributed team, and the standards we hold it to.

Software that builds software

Products of my own

The newest stretch of the line is my own work. The largest piece is Kidoka. A bug or request becomes a ticket, AI agents plan it, write it and review it, and a person approves the pull request. It went from design doc to a working multi-agent platform in 12 days. Now it builds itself.
